Before a problem can be solved...

I believe that there are five things that must be in place before anyone can solve any problem:

First, one must recognize that there is a problem. If you don't believe that you have a problem, what would you feel that there is to solve?

Second, one must identify the problem. If you don't know what the real problem is, it's not likely that you will be able to solve the problem.

Third, one must believe that the problem can be solved. Let me say here and now that I happen to believe that all problems can be solved.

Fourth, one must want to solve the problem.

And, fifth, one must know where to find the solution.

When you have all five of those things in place --- and only then --- you can proceed to solve any problem you are facing.
